Veteran’s Memorial Plaza, Coupeville —
The flags of the United States of America, each branch of service and the POW/MIA flag will be posted on the plaza by veterans and members of the services. The Shifty Sailors will accompany each posting with the anthem of
the service. Mayor Molly Hughes will read a history of each branch of service. In addition to the ceremony, citizens will be able to put a tag on a small American flag with the name of an honored veteran of their choice and place
the flag in the landscaping around the Veterans Plaza on the corner of NE 6th & Centre St. The flags will remain throughout the weekend.
There is no charge for the flags, which are donated by the Central Whidbey Lions Club. Distribution of the small flags will begin at 10:00am so as not to interfere with the scheduled ceremony
