Singer/songwriter Celia Farran is honoring the earth with a special performance,
a portion of which will benefit the Sound Water Stewards, Friday — the day before
Earth Day. Sound Water Stewards (soundwaterstewards.org) trains volunteers
working in and around Island County for a healthy, sustainable marine environment
through education, science and stewardship.
Tickets are on sale now for $20 at CeliaEarth.Eventbrite.com and may also be
purchased at the door for $25 or $10 for youth. The concert is at the Unitarian
Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island, 20103 State Route 525, just north
of Freeland and hosted by the Greening Congregations Collaborative of Whidbey
Island. Refreshments are available.
Celia Farran has relocated to Whidbey and performs with a variety of instruments,
including guitar, ukulele and bodhran, an Irish drum. She doesn’t necessarily stick
with Celtic style, but has a wide-ranging repertoire sprinkled with comedy.
