ISF: Twelfth Night

September 2, 2018 @ 6:00 pm

Island Shakespeare Festival, 5476 Maxwelton Rd, Langley  —

Often deemed Shakespeare’s comedic masterpiece, Twelfth Night weaves together our favorite elements into one multifaceted world. A shipwreck, a sad clown, a woman disguised as a man, and unrequited love come together in the midst of a post-holiday malaise. In these characters we recognize our own struggle against melancholy, which so often can make daily aggravations a little bit worse. But in the end, we find our way out and into joy once again. We look forward to sharing this catharsis with you.

Kristin Clippard, of Cincinnati, will direct Twelfth Night. Kristin holds a BFA from Wright State University and an MFA from the University of Iowa. She trained with Shakespeare & Company, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, the former National Conservatory Theatre, and SITI Company.

ISF performances are “Pay what you Will” to attend! We “pass the hat” after performances and encourage donations. We do not sell tickets. This means that seating is festival-style, and we do sometimes fill to capacity before the play begins.

You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy before and during the show. We also have concessions that can be purchased on site. We are required by state law to prohibit patrons from bringing their own alcoholic beverages for consumption before, during, or after our performances. This policy is strictly enforced. Wine and beer are available for purchase in our lobby.

Visitors are encouraged to bring layers and blankets – as the summer days get shorter, it can get chilly when the sun starts to set. You’re also welcome to bring a seat cushion! You do not need to bring your own chair.
