Dancing Fish Vineyards, 1953 Newman Rd., Freehand —
Island Jazz Collective is a rotating cast of musicians that changes lineups as the performance space requires. In its purest form, the band is a quintet.
The collective tends to play jazz standards, playing everything from Duke Ellington to Thelonious Monk to music suited to a lounge.
Its members come from all over Whidbey; Don Wodjenski on tenor and soprano saxophone is based out of South Whidbey, bassist Dale Stirling and drummer Ken Bloomquist hail from Coupeville, keyboards player Dr. Bob Wagner lives in the Penn Cove area and guitarist Mark Strohschein is from Oak Harbor.
It’s a truly all-island band.
If you’d like to support our music program, please consider tipping the musicians and purchasing our wine at the event. Wine will not be poured or sold in the Barn until 5pm.
