The Navy is conducting drinking water well sampling near Naval Air Station Whidbey Island beginning in February, to look for
certain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) which may be present due to past use of firefighting foam or other PFAS-containing materials on base. The open house-style public meetings will have detailed informational displays about the
proposed sampling near the Area 6 Landfill.
Additional information on previous drinking water sampling near Ault Field and Outlying Landing Field (conducted in 2019 and 2017) will also be on display. Visit https://pacific.navfac.navy.mil/NASWIPFAS
