Come join us to sing “shapenote” songs from The Sacred Harp, a songbook continuously in print since 1844. “Shapenote” refers to the way in which the notation is written, the solfege system meant to make community harmony singing more easily attainable. Most of the songs have sacred lyrics, but no particular religious or political philosophy is embraced nor endorsed. A love of singing together, however, is encouraged. Loaner books available.
