Randall Wayne Johnson
— October 17, 2019
Randall Wayne Johnson, age 66, went to be with the Lord Oct. 17. He passed peacefully at home two and a half years after his diagnosis with ALS. He is survived by his loving wife, Buffy Johnson, daughters Rachel and Heather, son Gregory, their spouses, and four grandchildren. Randy saw every person he met as his new best friend.
Growing up in Ballard and becoming a Christian at a Young Life meeting were the two major events in life that shaped him. Softball, waterskiing, shopping, food, music, Young Life, golf, church, food bank, he loved them and loved the people he did them with. He always had a quick, clean joke to share, often about Sven and Ole, often sharing them with strangers. He worked in the carpet industry, turning a job into making friends and sales.
A memorial service will be held at Pine Lake Covenant Church in Sammamish, Wash., at 1 p.m., Nov. 23. The family asks that in lieu of flowers you consider making a donation to the ALS Foundation of America, earmarked research.
Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
